FORC
is very fortunate to be featuring some original etchings by the
talented French artist, Muriel Escop. Muriel has a passion for
cats, birds and all other living creatures. A recent article
about her in the French magazine CHAT (CAT) described her as an
artist with a "cat engraved upon
her heart". We will be selling a few of Muriel’s etchings and all
the
money goes to help the cats of Rome, who are particularly dear to
Muriel.
You can read Muriel’s story of her two Roman cats, Bugatti and Galeno
under
"Muriel’s
Story" in our
Blessings section. Since we only have a limited number of her
works, orders
will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Muriel
was born in 1964 in the Cotes d’Armor in France. She has trained
at the school of Beaux-Arts in her hometown of St. Brieuc in Brittany
and
participated in a number of exhibits of her work, the most recent being
at a gallery in St. Brieuc. The show received very good reviews ,
one critic saying she is able to portray the depths of an animal’s
soul.
Muriel has donated everything she made from that show to the cat
sanctuary
in Rome, Torre
Argentina,
where she found her cats. She is being equally generous with us,
allowing us to have some of her work. Muriel has also donated her
work to
help protect birds and help at-risk children. She sent several
pictures to help raise money for the victims of September 11.
